Welcome to SettleSmart. By downloading, accessing, or using the SettleSmart mobile application ("App") or our web platform at https://settle-smart.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
1. Description of Service
SettleSmart is a personal finance, household management, and shared expense calculation tool designed to help roommates, couples, families, and friends track shared living costs, organize household chores, and maintain balanced ledgers.
Important Disclaimer:
- SettleSmart is an informational calculator, record-keeping tool, and collaboration ledger.
- SettleSmart is not a bank, payment processor, money transmitter, or licensed financial advisor.
- The App does not hold, transmit, custody, or manage actual user funds. Any real-world settlements, payments, transfers, or reimbursements made between members are executed independently by the users outside of the App.
2. User Accounts & Security
- To access certain features (such as multi-device synchronization and shared spaces), you may register using an email address, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate and complete information and promptly update your profile if changes occur.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree that you will not:
- Use the App for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or security of our servers or networks.
- Submit false, misleading, harassing, or defamatory content within shared spaces or group messages.
4. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
- SettleSmart may offer premium features (such as automated bank statement parsing and advanced financial analytics) via in-app subscriptions ("SettleSmart Pro").
- All payments, billing, and subscription renewals are handled exclusively through the Google Play Store (for Android) or the Apple App Store (for iOS).
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing cycle via your device's app store subscription settings.
5. Intellectual Property
All design elements, mascot graphics, logos, trademarks, code, and user interface features of SettleSmart are the exclusive property of SettleSmart and its creator, Shahryar Akhtar. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the App without prior written consent.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SettleSmart and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or financial discrepancies resulting from user calculations, data entry errors, or third-party service interruptions.
7. Termination & Account Deletion
You may terminate your account at any time directly within the App via Settings > Account Management > Delete Account. Upon confirmation, your personal account and associated data will be permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When updates occur, the "Last Updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of SettleSmart after changes constitute acceptance of the revised Terms.
